Connor, however, proved a less popular character, and the original Oliver Queen character was resurrected in the 2001 "Quiver" storyline, by writer Kevin Smith. Oliver Queen was killed off in the 1990s and replaced by a new character, Oliver's son Connor Hawke. Since then, he has been popular among comic book fans and most writers have taken an urban, gritty approach to the character. In 1970, he was paired with a more law and order-oriented hero, Green Lantern, in a ground-breaking, socially conscious comic book series. In the late 1960s, writer Denny O'Neil, inspired by the character's dramatic visual redesign by Neal Adams, chose to have him lose his fortune, giving him the then-unique role of a streetwise crusader for the working class and the disadvantaged. Throughout his first twenty-five years, however, the character never enjoyed greater popularity. Green Arrow enjoyed moderate success in his early years, becoming the cover feature of More Fun, as well as having occasional appearances in other comics. The world's greatest archer, as well as a competent swordsman and martial artist, Green Arrow deploys a range of trick arrows (in contemporary times, they are referred as "specialty arrows" ) with various special functions, such as glue, explosive-tipped, grappling hook, flash grenade, tear gas and even kryptonite arrows for use in a range of special situations. Partly inspired by Robin Hood, Green Arrow is an archer who uses his skills to fight crime in his home cities of Star City and Seattle, as well as alongside his fellow superheroes as a member of the Justice League. He uses this position to hide the fact that he is the Green Arrow. His real name is Oliver Jonas Queen, a wealthy businessman, owner of Queen Industries, and a well-known celebrity in Star City. Created by Mort Weisinger and designed by George Papp, he first appeared in More Fun Comics #73 in November 1941. Green Arrow searched for three months and was elated when he found his partner, but he did not know the Light had cloned Speedy, and fed him false information to lead him to the clone rather than the real Roy Harper. He started working with Speedy in 2007, but soon after, the Light kidnapped him and cloned him. Green Arrow was the second Justice League member to take on a protégé, after Batman. Green Arrow initiated his crime-fighting career in 2001. At some unspecified point and under unknown circumstances, he lost all his fortune. He also has long green gloves, a black mask, and a green belt with a gold "G". He carries a quiver along his back that is filled with arrows and has a black strap that goes along his chest. He wears a dark green shirt with a hood underneath a long light green vest with three dark green oval-shaped fasteners, black pants and green boots.

Since his codename is Green Arrow, his clothes seem to mostly be green. Green Arrow has blond hair, blue eyes, a blond mustache and beard. On a humorous note, Green Arrow has shown to take pride in his goatee, displaying shock when the original Roy Harper called it "dopey". This behavior however has led him to allow Speedy a great deal more leeway in behavior and attitude than other members of the League would normally. He seems to have seen his relationship with Speedy in particular that of a friend rather than mentor and sidekick. Though there is a sense of formality between them, Green Arrow has been shown to treat his relationship with his sidekick more playfully.

This however can often put him at odds with his teammates, particularly members like Batman.Īs a mentor, Green Arrow does not quite behave the same way that Batman and Aquaman do with their sidekicks. Always as quick with a quip and joke as he is with his bow, he seems to have a sense of fun when he's out in the field. Green Arrow is one of the more lighthearted members of the Justice League, who doesn't always take himself as seriously as many of the other members.

Green Arrow is currently in a relationship with Black Canary He is the former mentor of Artemis, Red Arrow and Arsenal. Green Arrow (real name Oliver Queen) is a superhero archer from Star City and a member of the Justice League.
